Board & Train

Our Board & Train program is designed for owners who want focused, structured training while their dog lives and works in a real-world environment.

Board & Train programs are ideal for young dogs needing a strong start, older dogs needing a reset, or owners looking for professional guidance paired with long-term success at home.

By living as part of a routine, dogs learn how to settle, think, and work productively both in the home and in the field.

Included in all programs:

Your dog will live in my home, receiving daily training, structure, exercise, and grooming—including coat maintenance, nail trimming, and baths as needed.
Each dog follows an individualized training plan based on their current skill level and goals, with a recommended minimum stay of four weeks (depending on the owner's objectives and the dog’s abilities)
To ensure lasting success, private training sessions with the owner are recommended at the end of the stay, helping you maintain the training at home.
Regular updates—including pictures and videos—will be provided, and owners are welcome to visit or observe training sessions in person.

Structure:

Dogs thrive on routine, so each day follows a structured schedule that includes training, exercise, playtime, bone-chewing, and rest. This consistency helps develop confidence and good behavior both in the home and in the field.

Exercise:

Every dog in the Board & Train program receives 1–2 hours of off-leash exercise, at least four days per week, while hiking in a variety of terrains—prairie, marsh, mountains, and water (depending on the season).

Mental Stimulation:

Each dog receives at least two focused training sessions per day. Training may include essential house dog skills or specialized bird dog training tailored to the individual dog’s needs—such as retrieving, tracking, and obstacle courses to enhance problem-solving skills.
